Never subject yourself to cheap toilet paper again … and help the planet
Toilet paper is an under-the-radar enemy of sustainability. Every day, 27,000 trees-worth of toilet paper are flushed away. Unfortunately, there generally haven’t other options for the eco-conscious who need to use public restrooms in North America … until now.
Santa Monica-based company Sonny has developed a portable bidet that will eliminate the need for paper or wipes for its owners, wherever they go.
The Sonny Portable Bidet
According to the company, “Sonny helps reduce your environmental burden while increasing your personal cleanliness.” Sounds like a win-win situation.
At 9.6” by 1.6”, Sonny easily fits in purses, tote bags, and fanny packs and features a sleek design that belies its true function. A one-hour charge is enough to power the portable bidet for three weeks, so there is no need to worry about constantly recharging the device.
Sonny comes with two 100 ml canisters that provide 40 seconds of standard-pressure spraying or 25 seconds of high-pressure spraying. While toilet paper will still be needed to pat dry after use, it decreases the amount drastically. The antibacterial nozzle head is interchangeable and can be easily cleaned after use.
You can even use Sonny as more than just a portable bidet. It can be used to clean dirt off the soles of shoes, pets, clothes, and more. At $98, the Indiegogo offer is considerably cheaper than most bidets and requires no installation and could be a good choice for use at home as well. Couples can save a little money by purchasing a two-pack of the Sonny portable bidet.
The Indiegogo has well exceeded its funding goals and is open until August 25, with the first units slated to ship in December. Take a look at the video below to see the cleaning power of Sonny in action. Don’t worry, it’s G-rated.
