If you have recently purchased a new car and are looking for ways to upgrade this then you have come to the right place. Upgrading a car doesn’t always necessarily mean pimping it out like you see on the TV. However, it does mean taking the factory settings and improving them with your own personal touch. So, if you are in need of some inspiration then check out the article below.

Tinted Windows

One of the most common upgrades we have on cars is tinted windows, it is so popular that now certain cars come with it as standard. However, you won’t be able to fully tint the front windows as these are required for safety. The back windows, do as you please, you could even go for a full limo blackout tint there. If the police catch you over a certain level in the front, then they will make you peel it off and get rid of it. Your front windows must let about 70% of light penetrate, so you can see all around you as well as being able to view your side mirrors.

New Sound System

If you are a huge fan of pumping those tunes when you are behind the wheel then a new sound system could be the first thing on your list. The ones that come out of the factory are mass produced and they can drain sound quality. You might want to keep the screen that came with your car, modern ones are actually quite nice. If you like to plug your phone in then be sure that your sound system comes complete with Apple or Android car play. This will make life slightly easier when you are trying to use your phone hands free behind the wheels.  Shop around for a new sound system that is well within your budget, the prices can vary massively.

Better Tyres

Unless you are buying a top of the range car then you are likely stuck with mid range tyres on your vehicle. This is okay, if you are just travelling to and from work. However, if you want to get some distance on your vehicle then you will likely want to change these tyres for better and far superior ones. Why? Well, they last longer and they provide a much smoother ride. High-performance tyres also grip the road much better than the ones you currently have on your car. This is great and incredibly handy when you are driving either in rain or snow. Remember, when you are changing your tyres, you ideally want to do them in pairs. So you can get two front or two rear done at the same time. You could also get all four done, don’t just do one or two randomly.

Number Plates

How do you feel about number plates? For some it might just be an identification marker for the car, for others it is a personal statement and a luxury asset. If you would like nothing more than to put private number plates on your car then go for it. However, you will need to do this the right way and not get in trouble with the law or the DVLA. You need to ensure that the number plate you choose is both legal and available, the last thing you need is for someone else to have the same one as you. You will also need to inform the DVLA so they can update your details and information on their database.

Lower The Car

If you consider yourself a bit of a racer then you might have lowering your vehicle on your to do list. This can be fun, but mildly irritating if you ever get stuck on a speed bump. Think about this before you actually lower your car. Lowering a car can provide you, the driver, with a much faster ride. You are also reducing the amount of air that flows under the car and reducing the centre of gravity. This means there is less chance of body roll occurring on sharp bends.

Wireless Charging

While this might not be a major upgrade, it is still an upgrade nonetheless. Wires can be irritating and annoying, especially if they are in the way of your gear stick or handbrake. Nobody wants that, and it can also be dangerous in certain situations. You can now get cars with built in wireless charging which is incredibly handy. However, if you have an older car then an upgrade will have to do. You can now get phone holders that clip to the vents in your car that can also charge your phone while you’re on the move.

LED Headlights

While you can’t have incredibly bright headlights beaming onto the road ahead, you can get LED ones that last longer and increase night-time visibility by around 150%. You may have seen headlights of different colours while out on the road, these are illegal so don’t be too tempted to make this upgrade. Headlights should only be white, yellow, or have a slight blue tinge to the white. Anything else will have you being pulled over by the police in no time at all.

Upgraded Brakes

Finally, you might think that the brakes that come on your car are bog standard and can’t be changed. However, this is far from the truth and you can in fact upgrade your brakes whenever you want. When you upgrade your brakes you are giving yourself better handling of the car, take it to a mechanic who can switch and change the brake pads for you.  You may wonder why the need for this upgrade, well, if you are also playing around with the power of your vehicle then you will also need to play around with the braking distances. You don’t want the extra power to lead to disaster further down the line.

So there you have it, there are plenty of ways you can upgrade your car. This is not just great for visual effects, but also how your vehicle handles.
