It’s always interesting to see what the top best-selling used cars are. If you look at these numbers, it’s usually a reliable indication of what consumers are looking for in a used vehicle. However, it’s also a way you might decide which brand-new car to get if you want one that is going to retain its resale value well.

If you’re looking at used cars, Waco, TX residents, then you might be well served to hunt for one of these. They are the top five best-selling used cars of the past year, 2024.

The Toyota Camry

If you think about it, it probably makes sense that the Toyota Camry should be on this list. The Camry has been popular ever since it came out. It’s a sensible, midsize sedan that is great as a hand-me-down vehicle for young and relatively inexperienced drivers.

It’s also nice because it gets good gas mileage and because it’s easy to park. If you want a reliable vehicle that seems as though you can keep driving it practically forever, you might very well want to look for one of these models when you head to a used car lot.

The Chevrolet Equinox

The Chevy Equinox might surprise some consumers who look at this list. If you start to think about what this vehicle brings to the table, though, it starts to make a little more sense.

The Equinox is a midsize SUV that is on the cheaper side. Therefore, if you need to carry around 5-6 people, plus some sports equipment or groceries, it’s a reliable go-to option.

The Ram 1500

It’s interesting that the Ram 1500 should make its way onto the list next. While it’s certainly a reliable vehicle, it’s also large enough so that it would seem impractical for some consumers.

This addition to the list seems to indicate that some drivers value both power and size. It is certainly debatable how many individuals are going off-roading in their Ram 1500, but there’s no denying that the buying public seems to like this model.

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Next up on the list is the Chevy Silverado 1500. It is another full-size truck. The presence of a second one on the list of best-selling used vehicles reinforces the idea that there’s a sizable contingent of the buying public that wants a truck with both significant towing capacity and a rugged look and feel.

The Ford F-150

The Ford F-150, another full-sized truck, rounds out the list. That makes three full-sized trucks, an SUV, and a single sedan.

The capabilities and versatility of the Ford F-150 seem to be what attract most consumers to it. Once again, though, it might be a little surprising to some that this type of vehicle would get so much attention, since it will not even fit in the average American garage.

With trucks dominating this list, it seems as though size and power are the kings of the used vehicle world, at least at this particular moment.
