In an acknowledgment of its rapid growth and innovative solutions, Priority, led by CEO Thomas Priore, has been recognized by Forbes as one of America’s most successful small-cap companies in 2025. This recognition underscores Priority’s pivotal role in the fintech industry, particularly in payments and banking solutions.

Priority offers services that streamline the processes of collecting, storing, lending and sending money. In addition to making payments processing more efficient, the platform enables the company’s clients to benefit from revenue opportunities and accelerated cash flow. The company’s advanced technology powers high-value commerce solutions, delivered alongside personalized support.

Forbes noted that Priority stock offered a 112% return in the 52 weeks preceding release of the “America’s Most Successful Small-Cap Companies” list. Priority, which ranks No. 45 on the list, has annual revenue of $852 million, more than double the company’s revenue in 2020.

Forbes creates the annual list to “highlight some of the stocks that have stood out from the pack.” To create the rankings, Forbes screened 914 companies with a market value between $300 million and $2 billion. Priority has a market capitalization of about $756 million. The top 100 stocks were ranked based on earnings growth, sales growth, return on equity and total stock return for the latest 12 months available and over the past five years.

Thomas Priore said during the company’s third quarter earnings call with investors in November 2024 that Priority continues to see sustained “positive momentum” in SMB acquiring, B2B payables and enterprise payments.

“Our continued execution reinforces that Priority’s technology, operations and decision making have positioned us to excel through the remainder of 2024 and beyond to deliver a thriving ecosystem of financial solutions that accelerate revenue and optimize working capital for businesses,” he said.

Thomas Priore’s Innovative Approach Drives Priority’s Growth

Priority has created and strengthened diverse revenue streams, encompassing payments and banking solutions. Priority’s scalable and innovative technology platform has fueled the company’s growth.

Thomas Priore said as the company has expanded what it offers, the focus always remains on finding ways to help clients make their business more efficient.

Priority’s Unified Commerce Solutions are designed to streamline revenue and accelerate growth through a single system. The platform offers a suite of services, including accounts payables automation, banking and treasury management, and merchant services, all integrated to provide a seamless financial experience.

“We are now a payments and banking fintech that has a very elegant set of financial tools that we are able to bring to small businesses — really enterprise of all sizes, small businesses, larger enterprises for treasury and banking solutions, as well as the vendor management and then large enterprise software and business partners to manage their ecosystem of commerce,” Thomas Priore said.

Priore said this efficiency is key to cash acceleration, a term that refers to systems that make it possible for businesses to accept and make payments much faster.

With cash acceleration, he said, “The faster I get my money, the better decisions I can make with how to manage my business.”

He added that for business owners, this creates a situation where “when I authorize payments, I’m going to get visibility into the cash flow coming to my business that same day. And better yet, if I could utilize that buying power on that same day, I may be able to pay my vendors early, which generates early pay discounts.”

Priority’s Strategic Acquisitions and Partnerships

Priority continually invests in developing and integrating advanced technologies to enhance its platform’s capabilities. This focus on innovation ensures that Priority remains at the forefront of the fintech industry.

Priority’s growth strategy includes strategic acquisitions and partnerships that enhance its service offerings and market reach. For example, the company acquired Finxera in 2021, bolstering its banking solutions services. Other examples include the acquisition of Plastiq in 2023 to offer enhanced credit card solutions to clients, as well as a partnership with Pipe to offer clients more options for accessing capital.

In January 2025, Priority announced its acquisition of Rollfi, which offers financial service providers like banks and accountants the ability to add payroll and benefits into their offers using Rollfi-created white-label solutions and APIs.

Thomas Priore, in a news release about the acquisition, said the acquisition fits with Priority’s focus on giving its clients options for making better use of working capital.

“Payroll is a critical component of any company’s working capital needs,” he said. “This acquisition unites Priority’s robust financial infrastructure with Rollfi’s innovative payroll and benefits solutions, positioning us to deliver even greater value to our customers by enabling new routes to accelerate their cash flow and optimize their working capital.”
