I didn’t think much about Shein at first. It was just another app people kept talking about. Cheap clothes, lots of options, fast trends. That’s what I heard.

One day, I gave in. Just wanted to see what the hype was about.

I remember adding things to my cart really fast. Too fast, honestly. Everything looked good. And the prices? That’s what got me. It didn’t feel like real money. A top for so little, a dress for even less, it’s easy to lose control a bit.

When my first order came, I was excited. Like opening a gift I bought for myself.

Some things were actually nice. Better than I expected. One t-shirt fit perfectly, soft fabric, no issues. I wore it a lot. Still do. But then there were a couple of items that just didn’t feel right. One dress looked good in photos but felt very thin in real life. Another one didn’t fit properly at all.

That’s when I understood something.

Shopping with this brand  is not always simple. You don’t always get what you expect.

Now when I shop with Shein I don’t rush. I check reviews carefully. I look at real customer photos. That helps a lot. People usually share honest opinions, and you can tell if something is worth buying or not.

Sizing is also confusing sometimes. I don’t trust the size labels anymore. I always check the measurements. Even then, it’s not perfect. Some clothes fit well, some don’t.

It takes a bit of patience.

But I still go back sometimes. Why? Because it’s affordable. I can try new styles without spending too much money. If I don’t like something, it doesn’t feel like a big loss.

I have  tried things I normally wouldn’t buy. Bright colors, different designs, even outfits that felt a bit out of my comfort zone. Sometimes I liked them. Sometimes I didn’t.
But it was fun to try.

At the same time, I noticed something.

It’s very easy to buy more than you need.

Because everything is cheap, you don’t think too much before adding it to the cart. But when you look at the total amount later, it’s not that small anymore. I’ve had moments where I thought, “Did I really need all this?

Now I try to stop and think before buying. Not always, but more than before.

Another thing is delivery. It takes some time. Not too long, but you have to wait. And returns are not always easy. So I try to choose carefully instead of depending on returning items.

Also, I have started thinking about fast fashion a bit more. Shein adds new styles very quickly. Almost every day, there’s something new. It feels exciting, but also a little too much.

Do we really need so many new clothes all the time? I’m not sure.

Still, I understand why people like it. It’s easy, it’s cheap, and there are so many options. You can always find something you like.

For me, it’s more about balance now.

I don’t shop there all the time. But I haven’t stopped either. I just try to be more careful.
I pick fewer items. I check reviews. I avoid buying just because something is cheap.

Things really depend on how you use the app. If you shop without thinking, you might end up disappointed. But if you take your time, you can find some good pieces.

Not everything is perfect. Some things won’t work. That’s part of it.

But sometimes, you find something you really like. And that makes it feel worth it.
