GREENSBORO, NC — Licensed counselor, speaker, and founder of Carolina Counseling Wellness Associates, Jaclyn Fortier shares a speaking series aimed at helping individuals find their voice—not just in the world, but within themselves. Titled “Finding Your Voice Through Adversity,” the series will guide attendees through a transformative journey of inner discovery, emotional resilience, and self-expression born from challenge.

For Fortier, voice isn’t just about what you say; it’s about the inner wisdom we all hold within us. Which, in practice, can be felt as a quiet compass that guides your decisions, identifies your needs, and your sense of purpose.

“Finding your voice begins with finding your inner compass,” says Fortier. “That subtle, knowing voice within yourself that’s always been there, even through difficult times, is what guides your healing, your growth, and your connection to others.”

Adversity as a Pathway, Not a Block

Adversity can be defined as one’s personal struggle. Whether through navigating a heartbreak, a major life change, or past trauma, Fortier’s work reframes adversity as something that doesn’t silence you; it refines you and can create an opportunity for personal growth.

In her upcoming series, she encourages participants to approach personal difficulty not as a limitation but as a growth opportunity. The message is clear: without resistance, there is no expansion. But to grow through challenges, you first need to trust that you can.

“Growing through change and challenge,” she says, “means believing in your own capacity to do hard things, and learning to listen to your own voice in the process.”

This framework helps people break free from comparison culture, instead encouraging them to measure growth only against who they were yesterday, not anyone else. Finding your voice is not about being the loudest or most polished in the room; it’s about being most aligned with yourself.

Inner Voice, Outer Impact

In the speaking series, Fortier introduces a concept of synergistic healing, where personal growth doesn’t exist in isolation. As you find your inner voice, you begin to express your needs, share your goals, and invite meaningful relationships that support your next chapter. In turn, you learn to hold space for others, becoming the kind of friend, partner, or mentor you once needed.

“It’s not just about expressing your voice, it’s about hearing others too,” says Fortier. “Healing is a reciprocal process. When we show up for ourselves, we can show up for others more fully.”

A Personal Mission with Collective Reach

Jaclyn Fortier’s story is the backbone of her philosophy. As a former Navy service member, first-generation college graduate, and a young mother who faced domestic violence during graduate school, she rebuilt her life from the inside out. Her counseling centers in North Carolina, and now her growing public speaking presence, reflect her lived mission: to help others reclaim their stories and restore their power.

This speaking series is a natural evolution of that mission, bridging therapeutic insights, storytelling, and empowerment tools into a digestible and personal format for individuals and groups seeking clarity and courage.
