Parenting has never been for the faint of heart, but today’s generation faces pressures. Financial stress, safety concerns, lack of time, and the ever-growing influence of social media all weigh heavily on parents’ minds. According to a recent report, nearly 70% of parents say raising children is harder now than 20 years ago, with children’s use of technology and social media cited as the top challenges.

The findings point toward both systemic and personal solutions. Policy-wise, experts recommend increased access to paid family leave, affordable childcare, and stronger mental health support. In the workplace, suggested reforms include manager training on stress management and work-life balance, as well as better access to high-quality mental healthcare. Yet, even with these measures, the emotional load of parenting remains immense. Four in ten parents describe it as tiring, and nearly a third find it stressful most of the time.

It is within this modern reality that Holly Swenson, Founder and CEO of Live Your Glow LLC, wellness advocate, and award-winning author of Stop, Drop, Grow & Glow,  has emerged as a compassionate, grounding voice for parents everywhere. From the quiet valleys of Montana to the global stage of wellness and personal growth, Swenson’s story is one of resilience, self-discovery, and service.

A nurse by training, a mother of four, and now an award-winning author and wellness advocate, Swenson has dedicated her life to helping parents find calm, clarity, and connection amid chaos. Her best-selling debut book, Stop, Drop, Grow & Glow, released in the fall of 2023, struck a powerful chord with readers navigating the demands of modern parenting.

Since then, her message has reached far beyond her home state. She has shared her insights in over 100 national interviews, earned six literary awards, and connected with some of the world’s most influential thought leaders, including Richard Branson and NBA co-founder Pat Williams. But for Swenson, the external recognition is simply a reflection of an internal truth she has lived all her life: real growth starts from within.

“I was raised by a single father who worked out of town a lot,” she recalls. “I learned independence and responsibility early on. It wasn’t always easy, but it taught me to choose victory over victimhood every single day.”

That perspective, rooted in grit and gratitude, has become the foundation of her philosophy. Through her writing, speaking, and advocacy, Swenson encourages parents to view challenges not as setbacks but as invitations to grow. Her approach blends mindfulness with practical self-care, helping parents rediscover balance and authenticity in the midst of daily demands.

In a time when burnout and disconnection often feel inevitable, Holly Swenson’s journey reminds us that transformation begins with awareness and intention. Whether through quiet reflection, conscious parenting, or courageous self-work, she believes every person can reclaim their sense of joy and presence.

Her message is both timely and timeless: when we nurture ourselves, we become better equipped to nurture others. From her Montana roots to her growing global influence, Swenson continues to light the path for parents seeking not perfection but peace, and in doing so, she is helping redefine what it means to truly glow in the modern world.

A Pivotal Turning Point

The moment that set Swenson’s current path in motion came about seven years into her parenting journey. With four young children, she found herself stretched thin, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. A severe bout of meningitis landed her in the hospital, followed soon after by the sudden loss of her stepmother. “I was exhausted on every level,” she says. “I told my husband I needed a few days away to reconnect with myself.”

That getaway took her to Miraval, a wellness retreat that would become a deep personal change. “It was there that I learned to partner with meditation and stillness,” Swenson explains. “That practice became my anchor. Most days, I now begin in stillness before my home starts to stir. Meditation, prayer, and gratitude are what help me stay centered and present.”

That clarity inspired her to write Stop, Drop, Grow & Glow, a four-part framework designed to help parents move from chaos to connection. The book encourages readers to stop before reacting, drop old patterns that no longer serve, grow new habits, and glow by prioritizing self-care and presence.

Learning from Leaders, Leading with Love

Swenson’s rise in the parenting and wellness space has led her to cross paths with remarkable figures, each shaping her perspective in unique ways. “Meeting Richard Branson reinforced the power of leading with empathy, joy, and curiosity,” she shares. “Pat Williams reminded me of the importance of discipline, vision, and investing in people.

She now teaches parents to see themselves as leaders, too. “Parenting is leadership in its purest form,” she says. “The way we listen, model resilience, and bring presence into our homes shapes the next generation more than anything we say.”

This philosophy has guided her mission: to redefine what it means to be a thriving parent in the modern world. Her approach goes beyond behavior management; it’s about cultivating emotional intelligence, connection, and self-growth.

A Revolutionary Approach to Parenting

The recognition for Stop, Drop, Grow & Glow, including six literary awards, has validated what Swenson knew from the start: that parents are hungry for a more balanced and mindful approach. “Traditional parenting often focuses on control and correction,” she says. “But what we really need is awareness and connection. When parents tend to their own well-being, they naturally create healthier family dynamics.”

Swenson’s work has been described as a quiet revolution in parenting, one that replaces guilt and burnout with self-compassion and growth. “I hope that this work empowers today’s generation to raise children who feel seen, heard, and valued,” she says. “Parents shouldn’t lose themselves in the process; they should evolve alongside their children.”

A Vision for Global Change

Ultimately, Swenson’s vision extends well beyond individual families. “My dream is to help create a global culture of conscious parenting,” she says. “When parents are self-aware and emotionally attuned, children grow up feeling connected and secure. That’s how we change the world, one family at a time.”

She continues to share her message through national broadcasts, podcasts, and community events, reaching parents wherever they may be. “Each appearance, each conversation, is an opportunity to remind people they’re not alone,” she says. “When we take care of ourselves, mind, body, and spirit, we create ripples that reach far beyond our homes.”

From her Montana roots to her expanding global influence, Holly Swenson’s journey reflects the power of intention, resilience, and love. Her message remains simple yet profound: to raise thriving children, we must first become thriving parents. In doing so, we not only transform our families but also help illuminate a more mindful and compassionate world.
