Technology trends that could reshape human resources
Keeping on top of the latest tech trends can give your business a competitive advantage and ensure you’re staying one step ahead of other businesses working in your niche.
Whilst many businesses are quick to update technology when it comes to sectors such as production and performance, human resources is one which is often neglected by management and often thought of as a more “analogue” department.
In fact, a recent study on HR professionals revealed that HR and technology don’t always go hand in hand. For example,
- More than three quarters feel there is a talent shortage of digitally literate people in the industry
- Only 6.1 per cent say their team are digital ‘experts’
- Respondents rated their own digital skills, on average, as 6.85/10
While some of these statistics may suggest HR is lagging far behind in the tech stakes, there is a strong forward push from businesses to ensure that this perception of HR is found false. In 2019, the digital revolution of HR is well and truly underway.
So why is there a concerted effort to digitize HR? The answer is simple, done correctly, this can result in more time freed up for employees and (in some cases) dramatically reduce costs incurred by businesses.
Somen Mondal, CEO of AI software firm Ideal, believes that businesses can cut their cost-per-hire by 71% using an automated approach and benefit from a threefold boost to efficiency. These are the kinds of percentages that just cannot be ignored by management!
To illustrate the other ways in which technology can aid HR, HR consultants AdviserPlus have put together an infographic designed to showcase some of the biggest technology trends HR professionals are taking advantage of this year.
The infographic touches upon AI, virtual reality and the effects of GDPR on how businesses store and share personal data and what HR need to be aware of when implementing these processes.
