It’s the First Book in the Natalia’s Game Trilogy
New York Times Best-Selling author Craig T. Bouchard creates a daring, unique, and action-packed new genre in his latest novel, Soul Ties of Spies. The first book in Natalia’s Game trilogy, Soul Ties of Spies, is being sold in bookstores across Romania. It opens in Moscow this week with no end to its growing European popularity.
So, we became curious about Bouchard’s latest adventures.
Where does the Soul Ties of Spies narrative focus?
The novel’s main themes include cooperation among intelligence agents in Russia, Romania, the UK, and the United States of America, a love story between two protagonists, and a quantum physics twist that eventually leads to parallel universes.
Each avenue Bouchard writes about is detailed, delving deep into the world of spies as
every page turns. With subtle intel, hot romance, and contemporary global issues at the heart of this story, it’s hard to turn away.
The story begins fascinatingly with the male and female protagonists alternating points of view.
Crew Thomas is a legendary American spy and master of quantum physics whose current mission requires him to search for a partner to help him teleport into the future. It all becomes possible when Thomas finds a young Romanian operative with lucid dreaming skills extraordinaire, Natalia Net.
Net is a highly trained assassin, and Thomas must convince her to risk her life and join him. So, what’s the price to pay? Some say death; some say love; others lean towards an indestructible soul tie. All we know is that you’ll receive a surprise ending you never saw coming.
What else is one to expect when the FSB, SRI, Scotland Yard, and CIA must work together? Pure edge-of-your-seat action.
Mending of Global Relations
Soul Ties of Spies is shockingly relevant to our divisive and dangerous world.
Bouchard suggests how the world powers could work together for the greater good of humanity. Bouchard’s primary purpose is to illuminate the situation while bringing forward a path to global reconciliation.
How does the author establish such a thorough, meaningful plot? Using fictional relationships between Romanian Natalia Net, General Thomas, and several Russians.
Interestingly, Bouchard highlights the secret Romanian/CIA black ops site, known today as Operation: Bright Light, where Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was secretly interned and interrogated in Bucharest after being captured by the CIA and Pakistan Intelligence on March 1, 2003. This partnership developed between the US and Romania has long been rumored to have led to the capture of Osama Bin Laden. This black-ops site in Romania was real, and Bouchard makes us wonder what else in his novel might be real. Nonfiction or fiction? Covert locations in Kentucky that the public has never seen, with original photographs, can draw readers’ suspicions, and rightfully so.
Romantic Love Story
A deep soul-tie attraction is the last thing Crew and Natalia expected, but the two fall for each other in unexpected ways during their wild ride. Who wouldn’t develop feelings for Natalia? Her tough, intelligent, ambitious persona is a pure delight. Readers will be in splendid awe at every decision she makes and every direction she takes.
The two brilliant spies find a way to astral project and teleport together, breaking the barriers of time and space. Fun? Not at all. It’s dangerous, and it’s not that simple. An antagonist, the beautiful and cunning Transylvanian Alina Balan, appears and challenges their soul connection. But, as we all know, jealousy can sometimes be as potent as love.
Quantum Physics
Another sector that Bouchard thoroughly explores is quantum physics in combination with war, the global order, geostrategy, shifting national boundaries, and the role of covert intelligence in it all.
Crew and Natalia don’t have simple character arcs where they fall in love and live forever after as partners. There’s no time for that. Instead, the duo uses Natalia’s dreams to project into the future, trying to prevent a global catastrophe. With this motive, Bouchard has woven quantum physics beautifully into the story.
But we must ask ourselves – is all this fiction, or is it true?
