Enterprise AI is entering a new phase. After years of pilots, proofs of concept, and standalone copilots, leading platforms are now embedding AI directly into the systems where work actually happens. The multi-year partnership between ServiceNow and OpenAI reflects this shift. By integrating frontier models such as GPT-5.2 into the ServiceNow AI Platform, the collaboration is designed to move AI from experimentation to scaled, operational execution across enterprise workflows, customer experience, and legacy systems, without bespoke development.

OpenAI and ServiceNow Forge Strategic AI Partnership for Enterprise Workflows

ServiceNow and OpenAI have announced a multi-year collaboration aimed at moving enterprise AI from experimentation to scaled, operational deployment. By embedding OpenAI’s frontier models, including GPT-5.2, directly into the ServiceNow AI Platform, enterprises gain access to advanced AI capabilities without bespoke development. OpenAI models will act as a preferred intelligence layer, enabling agentic AI that can take end-to-end action within real business workflows. The partnership is designed to shift AI from pilot programs into core operations. ServiceNow customers can use OpenAI models natively across the platform, allowing AI to execute tasks and orchestrate processes in enterprise environments, rather than simply offering recommendations.

Salesforce has expanded its partnerships with OpenAI and Anthropic to power its Agentforce 360 platform, according to Reuters. The deals embed OpenAI’s GPT-5 and Anthropic’s Claude models directly into Salesforce, Slack, and ChatGPT, enabling enterprises to build and manage AI agents across their organizations. Salesforce is positioning Agentforce as a central hub for multi-model, enterprise-grade AI. Anthropic’s models will be available for regulated industries such as healthcare and financial services, while Salesforce’s expanded OpenAI integration enables features like in-ChatGPT access to enterprise data and new commerce workflows.

AI Beyond Chatbots in CX

In customer experience, the expanded partnership focuses on moving AI from conversation to resolution. OpenAI’s frontier models are positioned as a preferred intelligence option on ServiceNow, supporting faster deployment of production-ready AI as organizations transition from pilots to execution at scale.

Key capabilities include real-time speech-to-speech voice agents that can listen, reason, and trigger actions directly in workflows, along with computer-use automation that enables AI to operate legacy systems where APIs are unavailable. Together, these capabilities turn CX interactions into end-to-end, transactional workflows. All activity is governed through ServiceNow’s AI Control Tower, providing the visibility, auditability, and control required as AI agents take on greater operational responsibility.

Under the agreement, OpenAI becomes a preferred intelligence capability for enterprises running more than 80 billion workflows annually on the ServiceNow platform as mentioned in Analytics India Magazine. Customers gain access to models including GPT-5.2, along with native voice and speech-to-speech capabilities. The deal includes a revenue commitment from ServiceNow to OpenAI, tied to customer adoption, though financial terms were not disclosed.

The partnership reflects a broader shift in enterprise software toward AI agents that act on behalf of users, not just respond to queries. ServiceNow will use OpenAI models to power natural language assistance, automated summarization, intent-to-workflow automation, and intelligent search across enterprise systems, with support from OpenAI’s technical teams.

ServiceNow Acquires Moveworks to Accelerate AI Agent Strategy

Investors highlighted that ServiceNow has agreed to acquire Moveworks for $2.85 billion in cash and stock, marking its largest acquisition to date. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2025. Moveworks provides a generative AI assistant for employee support and had surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue, reaching roughly 5 million users within 18 months. The acquisition strengthens ServiceNow’s push into front-office and customer service use cases and expands its shift from AI copilots toward autonomous, goal-driven AI agents.

Analysts note that Moveworks was already integrated into the ServiceNow platform, with around 250 shared enterprise customers, creating clear product and go-to-market synergies. The move aligns with ServiceNow’s broader strategy under CEO Bill McDermott to expand beyond IT service management into HR, finance, legal, and procurement, while competing more directly with Salesforce in enterprise AI.

From AI Experiments to Enterprise Execution

Taken together, these developments point to a broader industry transition. AI is no longer being positioned primarily as a conversational interface or analytical assistant. It is becoming an execution layer that can resolve issues, orchestrate processes, and act across complex enterprise environments under strong governance. ServiceNow’s partnership with OpenAI, its acquisition of Moveworks, and parallel moves by Salesforce all reinforce the same direction of travel: autonomous, agent-driven workflows embedded at the core of enterprise software. The next phase of enterprise AI will be less about proving technical capability and more about deciding where AI agents can safely, transparently, and effectively take on real work at scale.
